The story of PANDORA started in 1982 with the opening of a jeweller’s shop in modest surroundings in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie.

Travelling often to Thailand in search of jewellery for importing, demand for their products increased, shifting their focus gradually towards wholesale to clients in Denmark.

After several successful years as wholesalers, the retail activities were discontinued and the company moved to larger premises in 1987. It was around this time that the first in-house designer joined the company and PANDORA began to focus on creating its own unique jewellery, the manufacture of which was undertaken in Thailand from 1989 onwards.

2000 saw the launch of their highly popular and much emulated charm bracelet in the Danish market. Consumers enthusiastically embraced the concept, and in the following years, driven by a growing and encouraging demand, the company began to expand internationally, entering new markets such as the United States in 2003 and Germany and Australia in 2004.

Over the following years, PANDORA rapidly expanded its market presence driven mainly by third party distributors and strong production capabilities in Thailand. To further increase production capacity, a large scale manufacturing facility was opened in Thailand in 2005, a second facility in 2008 and a third and forth in 2010.

Today, PANDORA products are sold in more than 65 countries on six continents through over 10,000 points of sale, including more than 550 PANDORA branded concept stores. The distinctive charms recognised, and loved, the world over.

PANDORA’s mission was, and still is, to offer women across the world a universe of high quality, hand-finished, modern and genuine jewellery products at affordable prices, thereby inspiring women to express their individuality.
